Iris Folding Easter Ladies Hat

Hello Dear Stamper Friends:
Today I am bringing to you this card perfect for Spring or Easter ...the hat looks so elegant and it features the Iris Folding technique...which I paired with some stamping...

If you liked this Photo click on "Pin It" Button:

I learned this technique in one of my very first classes that I took way back with my card making teacher: Anne...she was a wonderful guide, I think now she is retired ...but she showed me so many techniques that in many ways I thank her for inspiring me and opening this world of card making...right after, I practiced the technique,  I created this card specially made  for her ..I hope she is reading this post....!!! OH memories!!!
So now that I have the  Blog , I decided to share this technique and make again the card that I will be using this time for Easter ...

I used the tiny peg stamps from "Stamp Tapestry" ( see info/list on Stamp Companies HERE ) which are perfect to decorate the card when using this technique, since the Iris folding takes much of the space...

1- Gather all your materials, I use different textured papers: foil, parchment and ribbon to give interest...cut your strips of paper @ 1" and fold in half ...

2- Stamp first, make sure that you follow the line on the peg, this helps you to align the stamp...

Print THIS PDF pattern made and graciously given by Judy Headrick (you can find patterns on my navigation bar on the section More, for future ref.)  ... and you can go to her Blog "Handcrafted Greetings", with much more patterns and techniques...
I enlarge it at 110%
Cut  figure A
Trace Figure A on stamped card, and cut with X-Acto knife, nowadays with so many dies out there you can do the same...but I did not have a die with THIS hat...
Cut  B in black paper

3- Place stamped paper UPSIDE DOWN on pattern
Place strips of paper following the numbers: in #1 blue foil paper, #2 ribbon, #3 foil tan, #4 blue parchment and repeat all the way around this same process..until you finish ...

TIP: use scotch removable tape to hold in place card on top of template, use regular scotch tape to tape  strips...

If you turn paper this is what you will see;

When completed you will have a beautiful card...Side view,

There are plenty of ideas on Iris Folding in my Pinterest Board under Cards: Iris Folding with lots and lots of FREE Patterns...so I hope you will give it a try,
